About Ana

I hold a BA in Economics from the University of La Laguna, Spain (“Licenciatura en Ciencias Económicas”) and a PGCE in Spanish from the University of Bristol, UK. I worked in finance in both Spain and the UK for nearly a decade before transitioning into Education in 2003. After earning my PGCE, I briefly worked in adult language education in the UK. In 2010, I began my experience in international education and have since been working in an IB International School. I regularly attend the latest IB Workshops to maintain my training as an experienced DP teacher in the subjects I teach and am a Certified DELE Examiner A2/B1.

I have taught MYP Spanish Acquisition and DP Spanish Ab initio and B (both SL and HL). I have also served as a DP Spanish B IB Examiner for 12 years and taught Mother Tongue Spanish at MYP, guiding students with the DP Spanish A Self-taught option. I have been a Personal Project and Extended Essay supervisor and a Homeroom teacher.  Currently, I am teaching MYP Spanish Acquisition for grades 9 and 10, DP Spanish Ab initio and DP Spanish B, and serving as an EE supervisor for Spanish. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and traveling.

“ Ms. Ana is one of the most dedicated teachers that I have ever met. I really appreciate her efforts in teaching me. I also appreciate a lot how she tries to get to know me better as well as understanding my difficulties and problems in Spanish. She gives me very constructive feedback for my oral and explains very to me very comprehensively when I have a question. Truly speaking, I enjoy the lessons with her a lot."
